Online Class Netiquette a student should know.

1. No yelling and shouting during class meetings.

Adjusting ourselves during this pandemic for online class is a bit difficult because of mannerisms. We ought to shout at our classrooms hence it can be brought even to online class. In most situations, typing ALL CAPS is inappropriate. Most readers, even your professors may perceive it as shouting so avoid it as much as possible. You don't want to be uncomfortable with your professor, right?

2. Do not use the chat box inappropriately.

Chat boxes are used into many online classes for students to share their ideas and opinions. It is useful, but it can be a distraction for others. Only ask certain questions related to the class, after all you're studying, not playing.

3. Attempt to find your own answer.

If you're confused or stuck in an assignment, your first instinct is to ask your professor to help you. But before you do that, just think and try to figure it out yourself. Maybe you were just clouded or distracted that you can't see the answers right in the paper.

4. Be mindful of grammars.

Always make an effort to use proper spelling as this will possibly be your first impression. It is not shameful to be wrong at first, just learn to correct your mistakes so that you will not encounter it again and maybe someday you will become a "grammar guru" yourself.

5. Be respectful.

Yes, you heard that right. Even though we are learning virtually, you must be respectful to your classmates and professors at all times. Every day may feel like casual Friday in an online classroom where you don’t see anyone in person, but a certain level of formality is still expected in your communication with everyone in the class.

6. Submit files on time and in the right way.

You won’t be printing assignments and handing to them to your teacher in person, so knowing how to properly submit your work online is key to your success as an online class student. Also do your professor a favor and pass it before deadline, you will never know but you're helping them a lot by passing it on time; to be advance is good too.

7. Learn to review.

When examination week is knocking on your doorstep, don't just stand there and let it open the door itself, you must welcome it with full confidence. Reviewing lessons is good especially to those people who are having difficulty in memorization. It is also a lifesaver if you want your grades to be high so don't forget to thank your notes.

8. Be professional.

Yes you are a student, but that doesn't mean that you don't have manners. Online communication comes with a level of anonymity that doesn’t exist when you’re talking to someone face-to-face. So before you speak, be mindful, and be aware of whom you are speaking to.

Remember: First impression may lasts.
